Experience the history and unique landscape that is Mount Tarawera. Mt Tarawera erupted on June 10th, 1886, the eruption destroyed the legendary Pink and White Terraces but also created the world’s youngest geothermal valley of Waimangu.
Let our local knowledgeable guides enthrall you on this fully guided walking experience. With 360 panoramic views and unmatched scenic vistas this trip encompasses the unique landscape and history of the area. It is ideal for all ages and includes an optional run in to the heart of the volcanic crater!

Dramatic mountain
Even though the weather was very changeable, windy and cold and cloudy it was an awesome experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and very helpful and really nice. I highly recommend this.
