Was really good fun, great way to get the Milford experience in a very close-up way. Great guide. Went a good pace that suited the group. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for something more than just the standard boat cruise.
We had an amazing fews hours on the water with Ollie (our fantastic tour guide). This kayak tour is a MUST do when you visit Milford Sound.
I booked the 8:15 am slot and the instructions to me was to call a day prior to confirm the trip. On the morning the day before, I did exactly as instructed, and the lady rudely told me that 8:15 am slot is already full and told me to join the 8:45 am group, where our group had to split into two. I explained that we are a group of 4, and we have a travel schedule to meet therefore is not ideal to simply just push back the schedule. And what the lady responded is absolutely rude and shocking! Effectively she meant "take it or leave it!" My take on Roscos is you should keep to the schedule you sold. It is not as if the weather was bad, and everyone on 8:15 am slot had to be pushed back. Mind you, it was a perfectly clear blue sky weather on that day. As not to disappoint everyone, the four of us proceeded unwillingly with the 8:45 am trip. The preparation team were friendly and good. However once we went out to the waters, the guide that was assigned to our group of 4 double kayakers only cared to speak to the white people. There was basically no conversation with the four of us whatsoever. In conclusion I do not recommend taking a trip Roscos Kayaks.
The day was perfect with no wind. We didn’t even have to get our feet wet. The views couldn’t have been better out on the water. The mountains were covered with snow and the waterfalls rushing. We even saw some penguins. Kallin was a great guide full of knowledge and karisma. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in seeing Milford Sound.
