MUST DO TOUR!

George was a fantastic tour guide! If you are in Tekapo, this is a must do! The small group aspect of it was awesome, and the photos was such a nice touch. A great balance of stories, naked eye stargazing, and using the telescope. I will definitely be doing this again and recommending to everyone I know. Do yourself a favor and book with Chameleon!

Best stargazing experience ever!

George is such a phenomenal tour guide and astronomer. This experience was better than what we had expected. The small group setting made us feel more comfortable to ask questions and George made sure to answer any questions we had. (Also the hot chocolate was sooo good!) Thank you so much George and we will come back to see more of our night’s sky.

Kia ora Criscell Thank you so much for your feedback, I am so happy to know the tour quality was exceed your expectation. From a guide's perspective, I prefer guiding small groups too as interactions with guests make the tour more fun. You are welcome to come back here to see some different stars and constellations. Stellarly Saturn!

Not far out of town, up the hill then down into the dark on a dodgy looking gravel path we were pleasantly greeted and settled into our intimate setting for star gazing. FREEZING! When jumping out of our cozy blankets and cushioned bench seat to view amazing sights through the Telescope after our guided naked eye commentary and education. Quality hot chocolate as per Mr 8yr old and entire group of 6 standards. Although we got a deal through bookMe and a late booking which was the initial deciding factor... we will go again, pay Full price as it was superb! Because of our timing - Winter the stars did align for us and Saturn rise above the horizon during our 7pm session! Congratulations George on the new business and an unforgettable experience! Twas perfect for our family from Northland NZ and meeting in the dark our Wisconsin Teacher friend and pleasant young couple who we eventually saw over the welcomed shared Marshmallow roasting. I also got up at 2am to look for Jupiter not quite the same without our reassuring guide lol 😊⭐👍

Chameleon Stargazing

Unfortunately the night we were originally booked into this event it snowed and the road into lake Tekapo were closed. We phoned and were transferred to the following night. From the time we phoned and spoke with George, he was nothing but helpful and accommodating. Due to the snow the area was not accessible, George changed the venue so it could go ahead. On arrival we were meet by George seats with cushions and given hot water bottles to keep us warm. However the weather was against George and it clouded over, 15 mins into stargazing and George canceled and offered a refund. No problems with a very prompt refund. I will not hesitate in rebooking stargazing with George again when we next visit Lake Tekapo

Kia ora Cushlaw Thank you so much for giving Chameleon Stargazing a 5 star rating even though we had to cancel the tour due to the sky condition. The weather was so changeable on that night, I did everything I could to try to save the tour, bu unfortunately some unexpected clouds came, it was a shame that we couldn't see nay stars, hope to see you next time in the future. Many thanks for your support! Regards George
