Such a great opportunity for your children to experience art and nature! The Sculpture trail is an engaging promenade through different plant species and contemporary art. My kids had something to discover at every turn of the path. The warmth and friendliness of the staff (David and Georgina's daughters) is a plus.
Traveled down from Whangarei to find this lovely eclectic garden full of imaginative sculptures vibrant reasonably priced plants very knowledgeable nurseryman and lovely little Cafe with very pleasant staff. The garden was well kept with lots of interesting plantings easy walking contour fun going over the piano bridge! Well worth the trip.
Not many sculptures at present as they are doing a change of exhibits. If you can spare the time do the 2 bush walks (takes about 1 1/2 hours for both) Friendly helpful staff.
Hi Graham, Glad you enjoyed your walk. All the sculptures and signage is all now in place. Look forward to seeing you again. Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens
Just so not worth it. Some of the sculptures were pretty laughable and we were just pretty stunned at the charge to walk around this place. The best part was the nature trail - i.e. you may as well just go for a nice tramp or walk in the surrounding area and save yourself the entry fee.
Wow! That's incredible, this visitor is complaining about the entry price when he used a FREE voucher from Auckland Unlimited!!!! There are 3.5km of walking trails as part of the Sculpture Gardens, all hand made by us, and the upkeep of them is only able to be done by people paying to go into the gardens. It takes a couple of hours to walk the trails, especially if you stop and read the signs, sit on the seats and enjoy the rural views, so for the $15 adult entry fee we think this is pretty good value! There actually are not any similar walks or tramps in the surrounding area. Not everyone is into Art and Sculpture, and one thing we have learnt is that different people like different things, and one persons favorite might be someone else's least favorite. We have also learnt that a one star review says more about the person who gives it, than the place they have visited.

Wonderful, cared for gardens with an easy walk with lots of interesting signposting for the art works and the trees and plants. Excellet plant shop too, with friendly staff. We didn't get to stop at the cafe but it looked great. Will definitely go again.
